USA: United Airlines staff at Port Columbus Airport arrested for stealing from luggage.
COLUMBUS — Two men contracted by United Airlines at Port Columbus Airport are court ordered to stay away from there after facing a judge on theft charges Monday morning.
United passenger Garrett DePergola spoke with ABC 6/FOX 28 on his vacation in Puerto Rico.
He said he took a 6 a.m. flight out of Port Columbus Sunday and discovered his MacBook missing from his checked back once he landed.
"I was just shocked that they had abused their power," DePergola said. "They didn't do their job correctly. They abused me and they took my property and that isn't right."
DePergola called his mother back in central Ohio, who then called airport police.
Court records indicate officers caught Jacques Dorsey Merrion and Rahine Smith opening bags and taking items from inside including DePergola's MacBook and another passenger's .40 caliber handgun.
