USA: Florida port workers sentenced in cruise ship drug ring.
Seven South Florida port workers have been sentenced to federal prison for their roles in a cocaine smuggling ring that moved drugs from cargo and cruise ships docked at the Port of Miami, authorities said Monday.
The men were arrested in August in a two-year, multi-agency investigation dubbed "Operation Pier Pressure" and led by federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations. The men were "corrupt members of the International Longshoreman's Association," authorities said.
