Geneva: Ex-Geneva Airport Baggage Handler Arrested in Terror Clampdown.
A former baggage handler at Geneva Airport was arrested by French police on Nov. 23 in the wake of the Paris terrorist attacks because of concerns he might be a threat to French national security. The man, whose name has not been disclosed, was fired from his job with Swissport at the airport “months ago,” according to Emmanuelle Lo Verso, a spokeswoman for Geneva authorities. The man who had a “Fiche S” to his name at the time of his arrest in neighboring France, designating him a threat to national security, was not identified as such when he was first screened for the job, Lo Verso said. Police in the French town of Annecy declined to comment on whether the man was still in custody.
